Hershy Kay's music to the ballet The Clowns has never, it appears, been recorded for any sort of album release.

Sagittarius Horoscope for week of July 24, 2014

"If I seem free, it's because I'm always running." So said Sagittarian musician Jimi Hendrix, widely regarded as one of the most inventive and electrifying guitarists who ever lived. Does that prospect have any appeal to you, Sagittarius? I don't, of course, recommend that you keep running for the rest of your long life. After a while, it will be wise to rest and ruminate. But I do think it might be illuminating to try this brazen approach for a week or two. If it feels right, you might also want to mix in some dancing and skipping and leaping with your running.

While there is nothing wrong with running, and I'd do it more if I had a safe place to do it, I'm more inclined to see the wisdom of yet another Sagittarian rock guitarist--Keith Richards--who very famously said that he would walk before they made him run. :)

I'm still in shock.

Feel The Heat )

Taking a Tylenol and washing it down with herbal tea at the moment. Hope this helps.

James Murphy On NPR's Fresh Air Today. No, I had no idea who he is before...tho' I had in fact heard a few of his songs.

He says some things (not in the text on the page now) that I find very applicable to my Uncool Kid project.

LINKED because the Godfather Of Soul doesn't stay still long enough for anybody to get EMBED with.

Ballet/Killer Cars/Atomic Mutation From Monty Python's Flying Circus )

My dad used to take in stray Killer Cars. He had like five or six of them, one at a time. But they weren't nice to him. They'd attack him in the driveway on Saturday morning and late that afternoon finally poop him out in a turd of road grime and axel grease.

PS: At the time of this post, my Meez avatar had been set to dance the MJ Moonwalk. It has since changed.

If So, Where Were You? )

I saw it when it aired. And Quincy Jones was right; he told Michael, "You think you're a big star now? Do this show and you'll be in ORBIT!" That's exactly what happened!

The whole show is available on DVD and I highly recommend it.

But I'm Not Done Yet )

I have this song on a 45 single (at least, last I looked) and for Stagecraft class in high school I tried a lip-sync/breakdance skit to it. I failed 'cause I'm too white.

Fatboy Slim, "Weapon Of Choice" with Christopher Walken.

[profile] domain69 and I both have had nights like that. Not at the same time, tho'.

It was dusk on the streets, the streetlights just flickering on for the night and the pavement still wet from the sweeping machines. I had just come from an arcaded plaza to the sidewalks and thought I saw something in the corner of my eye as I stopped at a wrought-iron pedestrian barrier. Then I saw them, scattered all along the way, pairs of men and women, dressed entirely in black costumes so they weren't "people" but silhouettes. They were dancers and stunt players and they swept from one place to another. You were one in the troupe, you danced with a guitar case. Sometimes it was a guitar, sometimes it was a woman, sometimes it was a tommy gun.

I thought to join you but as I ran to you you vanished. And then I woke up.
