My Weirdest Impulse Decision Yet
Aug. 2nd, 2011 12:19 amI usually don't talk about entering contests or sweepstakes or the like because I have been superstitious about getting jinxed.
But this time the prize is so out-of-my-Venn-diagrams that I don't care.
On Facebook Promotions, I entered a drawing for a brand new firefighter's helmet. Yes, that is weird, even for me. It was purely an impulse choice. If I won it, I'm not sure if I'd keep it or trade it to a friend for something else.

Belief Is A Beauty Thing
Apr. 18th, 2009 11:24 pmIn my travels today, I pulled all the pennies from my wallet and tossed them in the wishing fountain at West Town Mall.
The last time I threw a coin there, I got my brief but very worthwhile job at Borders across the street.
Part of me was saying may the waters drown your fate. I can't say that I like fate very much, or that I'm particularly superstitious...maybe I'm engaging in more anti-fate warfare.

Anti-Luck Warfare
May. 12th, 2007 03:52 pmI'm sure a good many of you know about the superstition of lucky pennies.
Well, last week I found a penny wedged between the cracks on a sidewalk. So I picked it up and set it, on edge, in the change tray in my car. It is a luck-ambivalent penny, denied the right to decide heads or tails. As horrible as chance has been to me, I feel the need to engage in anti-luck warfare.
Maybe someday the fates will feel as frustrated as I am, and will approach me for a truce and some reconciliation talks.

Hey.
Since my birth, my household has owned 24 motor vehicles. ( Cars I Have Known ) Where is a car in the ranks of karma anyway?
