A Real Vending Machine of Awesome?
Sep. 13th, 2017 11:44 amIn my dreams a few hours ago...
Somebody sent me a very technologically advanced trifle. Either Coca-Cola, or the company that builds their vending machines, created it. Somehow they found out that I liked robots, and I liked party balloons, and I was interested in the Industrial Internet of Things...so I received a robotic device to stick to the ceiling of my room. Every so often, it would activate, play one of Coca-Cola's many jingles, inflate a balloon with air, tie it off and let it loose.
Why Coca-Cola? I don't know.

Sep. 28th, 2014 12:13 am1) I need to somehow tell my Troop to refrain from attacking Sinanjus, Kshatriyas, or any M.S. units piloted by Frontal (man, I hate that name) or Marida Cruz. They are impossible to kill.
2) Build Strike Gundams are impossible to fight. In my latest battle, one took out two of my M.S. units SIMULTANEOUSLY. I guess I should be glad they haven't released a Reiji Pilot card yet.
3) I lose more fights from my M.S. targeting fresh enemy when there are damaged enemy in play that could be finished off.
Event Horizons
Sep. 22nd, 2014 12:19 amContinuing to imagineer the Gundam RedLegger, and threw myself a hurdle I didn't need. A couple years ago, B-Club had a series of resin Gundam bust kits (as linked in a previous post) and I was particularly interested in the one for the GP04 Gerbera. While Gundam fans know that the GP04 eventually became the Gerbera Tetra in 0083, the bust design appears to have a lot more in common with the Alex Gundam of 0080--with some improvements that aren't seen in other Gundam family designs. So it lent itself very well to my project--if I could get one and if it was hardware compatible with the pieces I already had or could get.
And I can't find one for sale...on any side of the Rim.
My alternatives in the same product line include the Prototype Zeta #1 and the GP00 Blossom, but I'm not as excited about either. The Blossom isn't much different from the Zephranthes/Stamen family which followed it, and the Prototype Zeta just looks too strange and implausible.
My more practical side is trying to tell me to just build what I already have. It may come to that.

For all I know they still could have some Korean knockoff kits, but they aren't on the website.
Fly On The Wall or Wall On The Fly?
Sep. 17th, 2014 02:36 pmI spent another fruitless while yesterday in the Bargain Basement of Books Warehouse in Pigeon Forge yesterday. The place is a shambles with tens of thousands of books in bins or on shelves with very little in the way of organization. It's impossibly difficult to find anything specific.
My thinking there went in this direction: if I had one of those quadcopter drones that could carry a camera, or perhaps carry my smartphone and have it act as a camera, I could photorecon the whole space and then have a computer program determine all the books it saw. Then I could virtually search that data and see if there was anything I wanted or needed.
I feel it's probably a good likelihood that somebody's already thought of something like this.

B-Club garage kits are vanishing from the market, as the division of Bandai stopped putting out new products two years ago and shops are selling off their remaining stock. It's becoming a chase for me...even though I expect I can't afford to get the ones I want that are still available.
Because of GUNDAM BUILD FIGHTERS, and Bandai's HG Customize Campaign that came with it, I was spurred into accelerating a program that had been on my mind for years: MS Team RedLegger, a sort of tribute to a friend of mine. I bought a few HGUC kits in the hopes that they'd be compatible with kits and models I already own...and in some ways they are and in some ways they aren't.
Part 1 of this build will be "Gundam RedLegger", based mainly on the 0080-issue Gundam Alex, which I hope to combine with some components from the 08th MS Team Gundam EZ8 and the HGUC GM Custom. When I opined on Facebook that I'd want to get more HGUC parts, I was pointed to genteikits.com and their system for buying sprues ala carte. And then I found dalong.net and the scans of HGUC instruction sheets, where I could see for myself what parts were on what sprues.
The real art is figuring out which kits have the best combinations...and which issues have complete sprues. And then matching what you need with what's likely to be available.
I'm trying hard not to rush myself. I don't know when I'll start cutting plastic on what I have. I just want to be sure I'm doing something nobody else already has.

Aug. 5th, 2014 08:18 pmLake Superior State University issues a "Unicorn Questing Privilege" to those people who are interested in hunting for unicorns. Are you one of them? I wouldn't be surprised if you felt an urge like that in the coming weeks. Unusual yearnings will be welling up in you. Exotic fantasies may replace your habitual daydreams. Certain possibilities you have considered to be unthinkable or unattainable may begin to seem feasible. Questions you have been too timid to ask could become crucial for you to entertain. (You can get your Unicorn Questing License here.)
I'm already trying to build the perfect beast in the form of the Gundam RedLegger mobile suit. It doesn't need to be a Unicorn...those are already done.

Thanks to me having a Bandai Channel account for years, I've been able to finagle a Bandai Namco account, which gives me the benefit of allowing me to play GUNDAM: DUEL COMPANY when the game still has yet to be released to the North American market.
This is my Troop's homescreen.
This is my card bank as it was yesterday. (There have been changes.) All my current cards are "Rental" cards, which means I got them for free but they aren't worth anything. I wish I could get codes for the Promo cards, but nobody who's got them is sharing.
This is a typical Formation screen, where you lay out your Troop cards to make Platoons for combat. It's good that everything's in English, else I'd be totally lost.
The results of my first practice battle the other day. I'm now in a multi-player Conquest campaign. Currently my Troop is #8 in a 32-Troop Army, with more than 100 kills so far.
