Aug. 7th, 2009 03:15 pm--The church yard sale on the second weekend of the month. As usual, on Friday it was limited to parishioners so they can get first pick of the goodies. This time, the second-hand garment I received is...
...A Navy Blue size 34 Cintas coveralls piece, made in the textile powerhouse nation The Kingdom of Jordan. Fits me okay. The previous owner put a leaf of Tennessee Vols fabric over the place where an iron-on name patch had been and was removed, leaving a couple small holes. Mum removed the Vols fabric (as I'm non-Vol) and I'm looking for a patch to replace it. I may take a trip to one of the three Army Surplus places I know around here just for that purpose.
I broached the possibility of using this coverall as a way to reverse-engineer coveralls. Mum's already done that for aprons and jumpers and scrub pants, so she's open to the idea.

Thanks to one of Kevissimo's friends, I learned about http://www.astrodreamadvisor.com/free_mayan_readings.html and http://www.starroot.com/cgi/daycalc.pl and looked up my Mayan Astrological Sign and Horoscope. I'm Blue Monkey with a Crystal Tone. According to the readings, I'm ruled by my inner child spirit, shadowed by the dreamtime, have a spiritual affinity with other people, desire trust, and possess a bright mind and a generally stable temperment.
Contrasting this is the Book of Destiny which states that I was born Week of the Titan (meant for larger-than-life pursuits) and a Karmic Path of Grace (meant to be beautiful or do beautiful things).
Contrasting this is the sources on Hindu Astrology that state that I was born under the sign of Shravana--with Vishnu as my patron divinity--and have a spiritual need of esteem from other people.
How much of this is truth? If so, how can I exploit these truths, and apply them to my life?
In other news, my sister visited today, and I learned that I'm more like her than I used to think. I find this revelation somewhat unsettling.
