As said previously, the fact that there is still tabletop Battletech being played in the area has resparked my interest. And, of course, leaving well enough alone isn't easy for me.
For the last three years, Bandai has had a gashapon product series called "Strategy of Gundam" which presents the best, coolest, most butt-kickin' Mobile Suits in 1/300 scale--the same scale Battletech is played in! So the lion's share of these pieces can be used in Battletech if there are compatible in-game 'Mechs the figures can proxy.
So I'm working on that. The basic premise I'm working from are 'Mechs 60 tons and heavier with jump jets and upgraded technology (either recovered Star League/Inner Sphere or Clans' non-OmniMech designs).
The Bandai pieces are prepainted and only need a quick assembly to be ready for use...
I wonder how the dude on the other side of the table would react if I came with a Gundam Deathscythe Hell in my forces...
