Situation Normal...Mostly
Jul. 12th, 2010 09:20 pmLong day today. Went to Johnson City again as Dad's relief driver for his medical appointments at the VA Hospital, and we had to take Moonshine because Dad's Buick was indicating a problem with its anti-lock brakes.
It was a check-up on top of previous check-ups, where we learned:
1) One ear will need a hearing aid;
2) Something is seriously wrong with his eyes and they can't tell him exactly what, other than to refer him to a specialist. At least his eyesight isn't so bad that they'd caution him from driving...yet.
It took a lot of time and a lot of waiting. Bravo was on in the Audiology waiting room and I saw a rerun of The West Wing. FOX News was on in the Opthamology waiting room and I saw Bill Has-Been...err, Haslam with Dub's Disease.
It rained all morning and half of the afternoon, and driving back was tougher than normal, but faithful Moonshine is faithful. We stopped at the LJS in Greeneville for a late lunch, and this was fortuitous as we wound up waiting out the last of the rain, and the weather and roads were mostly clear after then.
Got another long day ahead of me tomorrow in Knoxville. Still haven't planned Stage Ⅲ of Moonshine's White Lightning Lap...but I expect I'll have a day next week to do it.
