Last week, one of our neighbors died. He was a paraplegic (sp?) from a crippling accident suffered many years ago.

Today, as arranged by my father, I went to his place and did some searches of his computer. I found two wills, a living trust, and the name and phone number of his attorney. With the help of his family, I got the paperwork printed out, and from there they can proceed.

For years, my folks wanted me to be this man's technical assistant. I had my reasons for forgoing the idea, and even now I feel it wouldn't have been a good idea. But I had very little trouble with his systems.

The times being what they are, I think his family trusted me more in that I had not been his assistant before. The man had somehow run some sort of business from his bed, I don't know what. People would be going to his house at odd times of the day and night. But we never got suspicious about it. Still, I never met the man, and will never know if I could have gotten along with him...and I guess that fact haunts me a little.
