When I was at the end of Fifth Grade, my teacher gave me an almanac of date-related trivia and for some years I was very interested in dates and their meanings. I am not as much into it now, but this is one of those very interesting times when a bunch of world holidays come together. Mother's Day is next week, Pentecost the week after that, this Thursday is Ascension as well as Cinquo de Mayo.
So what do I say about this season? I want to be happy for everybody else in the world who is celebrating. And I am very grateful for what I have. But I wish I had something to celebrate as well.
I want a wind to blow me from my doldrums. I want a star to sail by and a golden shore awaiting me at the end of my journey. I want to know that I'm not mad for wanting what I want for my life, and to know that my journey will turn out to be worth my while.
I think I've been up too long tonight. I have things to do, but I guess I'll wrap it all up quick and go to bed.
