Writer's Block: Lesson learned

Nobody is really "keeping score" but you. Those standards and norms that are set as ideals we all have to live up to, and emulate...they're only ideals. Now, that doesn't excuse us from setting NEW standards if they're better than the old ones, and in fact, I would like to do that myself someday. But those years, when mother and father were the American Couple(TM) and made it look easy to us kids--they could only do it because of prices they paid before we were born, and by their parents as well. If you're willing to pay the price yourself, for the sake of your own kids and their kids, then power to you. I'm, personally, under no obligation to "make it look easy" to anyone, however.
