Back In the Saddle Again

Hey.
I've got my own compy back on my own desk and am using as I "speak". My mother's compy isn't as bad as feared but still is bad...we'll have to replace her hard drive and get all new software. Dunno if any data from the old drive can be salvaged. I guess it teaches us to buy floppies all over again, and archive floppy to CD-R on a regular basis.
Ugh...the repairmen cleared the cache and the cookies. And they monkeyed around with the display settings and the Startup programming, which I pared back on because they were slowing everything too much. At least they routed the modem sound to the external speakers...wish I knew how they did that.
More to come.
