Doing This Early To Avoid The Rush
Sep. 26th, 2005 12:06 amHey.
Does this count as a meme? Those of you in the audience who collect comic books (and I bet that's a good number)...look in one of your long boxes and share with us what's in it. (I'm mundane myself...only six boxes.) Just titles will do, with some words about them (if you feel the need to explain yourself).
Box #1
*Akira
*Appleseed
*Batman sampler (Got this as a freebie, includes Batman's origin and teasers from three other DC titles)
*Battletech--from two different publishers, Blackthorne and Malibu... the later a tie-in to the TV cartoon
*Battle<>Armor--a Starship Troopers-esque story of soldiers trying to defend the remnants of the human race after aliens conquer Earth
*Black Magic--Masamune Shirow's first manga and inspiration for a cartoon video that has nothing to do with it other than the identity of the MacGuffin robot
*Blade Runner--I didn't really understand the movie till I read this comic adaptation
*Boris The Bear--just one issue, a robot cartoon parody starring a homocidal (robocidal?) teddy bear android
*Broid--the story of a post-apocalyptic planet and a man who returns to it to lead a rebellion against its totalitarian leader
*Brute Force--a charming Marvel sci-fi tale of bionic wild animals at war with each other
*Bubble Gum Crisis--the Dark Horse Manga satire formula worked better in Dirty Pair, but this title was okay too
*Captain Harlock/Emeraldas--the most professional dojinshi ever done...and ended quickly once Eternity learned their license for the adaptation was bogus
*Chaser Platoon
*Cobra
*The Comico Black Book
*Cybersuit Arkadyne
*Dai Kamikaze
*Dirty Pair--and a "tribute" issue from Excalibur
*A Distant Soil--got turned on to this fantasy by Robotech Art 2, the fan art album
*Doctor Who
*Dominion
*Dojinshi--Antarctic Press' short-lived series that reprinted Japanese fan comics
*Dune--the adaptation of the David Lynch movie
*Dynamo Joe--Doug Rice, where are you when we need you?
