The hobby store in Knoxville where my IPMS/USA local meets had an in-store model contest today and I entered, only because Larry (one of our club's former presidents and an assistant manager at the store) asked us to, to fill out the field and raise the bar. We do have some incredibly talented chaps in our ranks.
I won.
I swept the field of small-scale aircraft made by adults.
With ONE entry.
Which I didn't even have much hope for.
So I got a blue ribbon and a coupon worth $5 off my next purchase at the store, provided I buy before the second week of November.
I owe Larry some money and the club a demand for explanations. There are at least two other regulars in the club who could have kicked my afterburner if they ONLY SHOWED UP!
