I know this won't come anywhere near what you want, as in, an existing song that everybody's heard. That said, one thing I've wanted, in conjunction with my Equation story concept, was a novelty song in which a modern rapper is dragged back to 1977 and forced to deal with making a song in the pre-sample era. He'd be goaded on by an R&B or funk singer from that era, and the session musicians.
