In One Fell Swoop--My Avatars Explained
Jan. 3rd, 2007 01:28 amI like the idea of explaining them all at once rather than stringing them out in a series of posts. As I've been online almost ten years now, the avatars have kind of proliferated...

[Left] The Stalma fighter. [Center] The bow of the good starship Arcadia, taken from the title sequence of the Endless Road SSX TV series. [Right] A Basilisk HERC, originally from Starsiege but this particular image is from demo work for the next generation Starsiege game. This image replaced one of the Apolcalypse HERC from Earthsiege 2, the avatar of which I used for a year or two.

The Dixen, Kikaioh and Rafaga mecha from TechRomancer. Heck, I'd use animated gifs of the robots from One Must Fall if I could reverse-engineer them myself. I've never played TR but then again I've never owned a modern console system.

[Left] The DreamMachine version of me. [Center] The symbol for the Terran faction in CAV. A game I've admired but never got to play. [Right]The version of me from the Flash game Balloon Duel, a game that I gave up on right after I had adequately mastered it.

[Left] A B-25 Mitchell making a simulated napalm run at an airshow. I got this one over USENET from usenet-replayer.com. [Center] A P-47 Thunderbolt on a strafing run, from some WW2 propaganda poster. My NightStar Zoo avatar, provided by NightStar.
[Right] A fighter making a strafing run, from the Southern Cross segment of Robotech. Obtained from Cartoon Network's website, when they webcast one-per-minute images from their running content.

[Left] The face of Phormo, one of the two Samuraizer robots from Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad a.k.a. Gridman. Courtesy the antivirus suite produced as a tie-in to the show. [Right] A diecast toy plane from the Flyboys movie. I haven't used it as an avatar yet, but I may bring it into rotation in the future.
