LINKED because getting EMBED is so rude sometimes.

Cyndi Lauper, "Boy Blue"

This song inspired a character in my (now in suspended animation) story Rayome. In the first storyline, the title character, a pre-teen girl, has to house-sit a space station that generations before had been a thriving city, but is now abandoned. Boy Blue is a ghost who haunts the station...but Rayome finds that not only is he NOT the monster everybody had claimed he was, but they had the power to grant each other a wish--a wish they SHARED.

At the end of last week, I got a notice that The Tennessee Tech Center At Morristown had accepted my application and funding from the Federal Government was available. Today I went there and was assured by a staffer that 1) my grant was coming through (whoohoo!) and 2) there would be some $ leftover from tuition for books and tools. So I may just do this September thing after all.

After the visit, I took a semi-scenic route back to Rather Manor. I stopped at the former Lifetime KIA showroom building for a quick peek at it. The property hasn't been offered for resale or new lease tenants yet. The KIA stickers are still on the plate windows out front. The showroom is devoid of parked cars and furnature, but the balloons suspended from the ceiling since before Christmas are still there. Like I said, the showroom building itself is state-of-the-art, and I'd imagine that somebody would be itching to move in and set up a new business. But there are no signs of that happening anytime soon.
