Sagittarius Horoscope for week of October 23, 2008

The world is poised at the threshold of a great choice: Should we stick with what has worked for us, even though it's not working any more? Or should we experiment with possibilities that may work for us in the future, even though they don't have a track record? You, Sagittarius, can and should be a leader in this epic adventure. The best way to do that is to summon your dormant courage as you apply the big questions I just posed to the specific circumstances of your personal life.

The appearance of Paul Francis and the LucasFrancis Studio into my life has pretty much brought me completely to the path of having to try new things. But now I also have the possibility of taking ideas that were only whims and making real things out of them. And not having to win the lottery to do them. Of course, I have to bring my own resources to make anything happen, but I'm prepared, and willing.

More to come.

Steve Martin Interview On NPR's Fresh Air.

It's peculiar that I liked him but wasn't all that big a fan when he was an A-List star. But hearing his story about how he suffered from panic attacks early on in his show biz career, and how he avoided using drugs because of that, that's something I can really relate to.

The punchline of the "blue spotlight sketch" had a life of its own...so much so that it's permanently stuck in the fabric of American culture. But I had never heard the actual sketch before, and it's included in this interview. If a punchline is made into a catch phrase, totally detached from its original context, it loses something. (Note that I am deliberately not quoting the words. Please, you need to actually hear the sketch.)

I'm talking about butt-of-jokes, all-time Mama's boy of sci-fi Wil Wheaton.

He played the villain in this week's episode of Criminal Minds...and VERY effectively.

Mark my words...we're going to see a lot more of him. And this time, we'll forget all about the role of Wesley Crusher.
