The actors who play Speed and Trixie pose in front of the BP Amoco/Mazda #5 prototype at Long Beach before Sunday's race.
It's hard to see, but they stuck the Mach M decal on the nose of the car. On the TV coverage of the photo op, they also showed a fake set of buttons on the car's dashboard detailing gadgets that the driver could activate...from the saws and jump wings to a banana dispenser to keep Chim-Chim happy.
I get most of my fuel from BP stations these days, so I'm a little amused that there was this conjunction of diverse elements of my life together at this point.
