I've already come to the practical conclusion that if this situation arises, I would simply inform said celeb that they have absolute liberty and obligation to tell me whatever they feel I need to know. They have better answers than I have questions by which to prise the answers from them.

My mother's cousin was CO for the first squadron shown on the video...at about the time Top Gun was filmed. Tho' I doubt he actually participated in the making of the movie.
