Defense and Constitutionality
Apr. 3rd, 2007 03:37 pmThis weekend my father (a previous Marine himself) voiced his disgust at the Marine Corps' upcoming crackdown on tattoos, and said that such a ban was probably unconstitutional. I told him back that if there was such a legal dodge, that same argument could be used to overturn "don't ask/don't tell" and allow open homosexuals to serve in the military.
"Right to bear arms," I said. I wasn't punning, but Dad and Mom took it that I was, with differing degrees of amusement.

(PS: As far as I know, my father does not have any tattoos.)
