Quantity Versus Quality
Jan. 18th, 2007 01:28 amJust a reminder:
An F-22A Raptor costs the Pentagon about $350 Million each.
A Chinese F-7PG (developed from the MiG-21, but with a newer engine, newer wing design, and up-to-date radar, avionics and missiles) only costs our potential geopolitical adversaries $17 Million each. (Yes, that is 20 to 1 odds!) Surface-to-Air missiles capable of catching a Raptor aircraft at altitude are even cheaper.
Wars are coming, but I doubt our nation will ever find a cause that will adequately justify the costs we will need to spend. Which bankruptcy will hit us first?--Fiscal or Moral?
