Why I've Been Fillerizing
Jun. 13th, 2005 12:02 amHey.
My nephew has been here since Wednesday afternoon and so far he's been dominating our household attention and generally upping the stress level. I don't know how people who have children of their own stay sane while they're around.
We binge-watched the "Lord of the Rings" and "Harry Potter" movies, and I hope the weather tomorrow is nice enough for the boy to get some actual exercize outside the house. He, like most kids I've known, is addicted to the TV set.
It's impossible for me to get any work done when he's up and around. Surfing the 'Net in little bits is all I can manage. I try to get away for a while and he comes after me wanting me to sort out the DVD player for him.
I know what you're thinking..."can't you learn to love him, Stephen?" Well, he can be lovable if he tries to be nice. But my problem is he reminds me of how I was when I was his age. And frankly that scares me. After all, I was a ticking time bomb.
