Extra: Unplanned Obsolescence Postscript
Hey.
My uncle, who knows just a little bit more about computers than I do, poked around in Mom's compy (with me "riding shotgun") tonight.
The verdict: the CD-RW drive in that computer is lunched. We can write off the replacement as a business expense, but it still isn't a pretty proposition.
The perpetual "next computer" on the horizon is now charging headlong at me. I was hoping to hold off on it a little longer. Maybe I still can.
