Headache

Hey.

Some farmer is burning his tobacco again. Ugh. My body hates nicotine with a vengeance.

* * *

Somebody was running an e-mail meme asking his friends what they wanted out of life, and this is what I said:

A lot of your ideas are very very good ones, Rex. You know, that ties into my pairing of the Hindu ideas of what people want and Roosevelt's Four Freedoms...

Social Liberation -> Freedom of Speech
Respectful Behavior From Society -> Freedom of Religion
Worldly Success -> Freedom From Want
Pleasure -> Freedom From Fear (I know Roosevelt meant this phrase to be specific about disarmament and multinational peace diplomacy and things like that, but I prefer to extend that to include social justice, law and order, and so on)

I also used to have a long list of goals and wishes. I'd update that every year, but haven't kept up in recent years. I guess I should work on it again.

At the level of IF I WERE A GOD--
I'd learn about every single planet in the Milky Way Galaxy that could support human life...and then start sending people from here to those planets, whether they wanted to go or not. Those Palestinians who refuse to live with the Israelis--off to Planet Al-Quds. Those Israelis who refuse to live with the Palestinians--off to Planet Judah, umpthousand light years away in another direction. And so on for every p.o.'ed faction of the human race. Only those people who pledge to live in peace with their fellow humans have the right to live on Earth.

At the level of IF I WERE A MEGARICH MAN--
I'd be a publisher and producer of science-fiction books, anime shows, movies, games software and the like. I'd be a manufacturer of toys and scale model kits. I'd be involved in Virgin Galactic. I'd have at least two houses on every inhabited continent. I'd sponsor museums and libraries. I'd work hard, but it would be as if playing with the ultimate toys. I would not be stressed, I would just be having fun.

At the level of BETTER THAN DESPERATION SUCCESS--
I'd have a nice house in the hills of Florida near Gainesville or Clermont (northwest of Orlando). I'd have a nicer car, a nicer computer, a nicer bed to sleep in, nicer clothes to wear. I'm not sure if I'd stay single or get into a long term relationship with someone if I were more successful...that's a bridge I'd have to cross when I come to it.
