A Legend Appears In My Dream...
...and I don't know if he was real.
My dream was I traveled back in time, perhaps the better part of a century, and met a great man whose fame had not lasted to our time. He was an actor, a martial artist before the word had been coined, and a stage superstar. But he wore a mask over part of his face due to wounds on his nose that surgery of the time could not reverse. (The Great War, perhaps? Or Cuba?) I don't remember if I heard his name. I think this was in Chicago.
Was this history or metaphor? I suppose I need help here.
