Unplanned Obsolescence

I hate it when I find myself running headlong into unknown territory computerwise. The current case in point...my assignment of using my digital camera to capture the entries at the model show week before last. That part worked, the images came through and are now uploaded on my mother's computer. Now I've got to put them on a CD-ROM for me to ship to IPMS/USA's webmaster.
I can't get the silly software to work. My version of Easy Creator is old and incompatible with the version of Windows, and I don't know diddly about Nero, which is not forthcoming on how it's supposed to run. I've got piles of blank disks but Nero isn't doing anything to format or write them. And yes, I'm using the correct CD-RW drive.
Brother mine, if you are reading this, I want to borrow your USB mini-drive. Just to get the piccies from Mom's compy to my own so I can use software I know and love to produce the CDs. You understand...if a direct assault fails, go for a flanking maneuver. :|
